    Description

John Norman owned a wholesale bakery at 1323 E Franklin Ave. in Minneapolis.  Before 1910 he used his two daughters, Elsie and Norma, in his promotional advertising.  In this instance he had the nearby Halmrast Studio take a photograph of the two girls
posed in one of the Norman Baking boxes used to ship fresh bread by rail to the far reaches of Minnesota and the Dakotas.
The printer then used the photograph to produce promotional ink blotters featuring the girls with the slogan "Norman's Best Bre (A)d Girls."  The image was not used on any postcards.  This unused torn blotter is the only one that still exists.
