Antique Handmade Silver Coin Ashtray
This ashtray was made using the following:
(3) 1/2 Riyal Coins, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 1935
(1) 1 Thayer, Maria Theresa- Ruler of Austria, Hungary, Bohemia, 1780
About the coins used:
1/2 Riyal coins:
Obverse (front) "King of Saudi Arabia" and Reverse (back) "Hit in the Holy City of Mecca/ Half a Saudi Arabian Riyal / ١٣٥٤. Year: AH1354 (1935). Circulated. KM# 17
1 Thayer coin:
Ashtray base, Maria Theresa ruled Austria, Hungary, Bohemia from 1740-1780. Coin minters were Tobias Schobl and Joseph Faby, standing for "S.F." printed under Maria Theresa. Obverse (front) "M. Theresia. D. G. R. IMP. HU. BO. REG." which translates to "Maria Theresia Die Gratia (Mariah Theresa by the Grace of God), Romanorum Imperatrix (Roman Empress), Hungariae Bohemiaeque Regina (Queen of Hungary and Bohemia)" and Reverse (back) "Archid. Avst. Dux. Burg. Co. Tyr. 1780.X" which translates to "Archduchess of Austria, Duchess of Burgundy, Countess of Tyrol, 1780" The X was added in 1750, known as the Saltire (Saint Andrew's Cross). By the Austrian Mint. Circulated. KM# 1866.2
