Up for an auction is an extremely rare pattern of Ethiopia - uniface reverse of 1/8 Birr of 1928 struck in lead.  Certified for authenticity by an Italian coin expert, but incorrectly attributed to Haile Selassie I pattern coinage.  In fact it is a pattern of Ras Tafari Makonnen struck in Vienna to commemorate the elevation of Ras Tafari from Regent to King of Negus.  Dennis Gill gives reference to this pattern series, but does not mention any trials in lead.  May be unique.
