    Description

    1895 Ethiopia Menelik Earth Train Bronze Medal Bronze. Features a portrait of Menelik facing right by Jules-Clément Chaplain on the obverse. There is a steam locomotive with a legend above in Amharic reading "Earth Train Commemorative" with the date underneath on the reverse. Has the original ring attached to edge ball mount at top. Issued to commemorate the beginning of the French-built railway between Djibouti and Addis Ababa, which was finally completed in 1918.
