    Wonder Bread Hosiery Sewing Mending Kits
    lot of 3.  These are very rare stocking repair kits from 1952 which were made to look like match books and given away as advertising samples back in the 1950's.  They measure approx. 1 1/2" x 2".  Each matchbook has thread, 6 splints and needles - one book does not have a needle.  These kits were very popular during and after WWII when nylon stockings were hard to find.  The glue sticks were moistened and applied to either end of the run on the stocking and the need and thread were used to darn it.  They have wear consistent with age.
